Tennis in Lewisham
No clubs on Courting here yet, and ten public court venues across the borough.
Lewisham runs its park tennis as one network with a season ticket over the top, from Ladywell Fields and Hilly Fields in the north of the borough down to Chinbrook Meadows at Grove Park. Four of the sites have been rebuilt: Chinbrook Meadows, Hilly Fields, Telegraph Hill and the Catford Bridge end of Ladywell Fields all have new courts and new fencing. Mountsfield Park sits outside the scheme and is free to use.
Somewhere to play was never really Lewisham's problem. Getting four people onto one of these courts on the same evening is. Courting runs that end of it for clubs here: it holds the booking, builds sides worth playing on, and moves waiting players through a busy club night in an order everybody can see rather than one the loudest person decides.

Tennis in Lewisham: common questions
- Is there a free tennis court in Lewisham?
- Mountsfield Park in Hither Green. The borough's tennis operator states it is free to use and not part of the season ticket scheme, so there is no booking page for it and no fee. Every other park site in the table above runs on the borough's booking network.
- Why does Ladywell Fields come up twice when you book a court?
- Because the park's courts are run as two separate booking venues: Ladywell Fields, and the Catford Bridge end at the south of the park. They are a walk apart, so it is worth checking which one you have booked. The council counts six courts across the whole park; the operator's own pages split them differently, which is why we have left the per-venue counts to the booking sheets.
- Which tennis courts in Lewisham have been refurbished?
- Four: Chinbrook Meadows, Hilly Fields, Telegraph Hill and the Catford Bridge end of Ladywell Fields. The borough's tennis operator describes all four the same way, as new courts with new fencing, and lists them separately from the older sites at Ladywell Fields, Manor House Gardens, Mayow Park and Sydenham Wells Park.
